Thank you, Ken, for this. . . you nailed it. Pain has been an uninvited guest at my home and the homes of other loved ones for far too long. My mother left Pain behind in 2013 and this is the third Christmas she is with the Healer of broken hearts and bodies. Pain is not my friend, even when others see him with me; I hope that others see the light and love of Jesus in my eyes, instead of this fraud called Pain. Merry Christmas, Ken & Randi!
Claudia

A sensitive and yet agonizing account Ken, especially for those who share this uninvited Resident, (no longer a visitor) now will likely feel validated and understood. I see this reality in my office frequently. I hope I can copy this - the stuff you write.
This reality is often accompanied by depression, in both spouses.
I see that she has had another surgery last week. Are they working on new areas in her back?
You two are in my thought and prayers.
sue

Wise, wise words forged from personal experience. How many people need the assurance that pain is among the things that will be "no more"? Thank you for sharing.
